Rachel Brosnahan nearly slips up with ‘Superman’ spoiler |

Rachel Brosnahan, set to play Lois Lane in James Gunn’s upcoming ‘Superman’ film, had a close call with spoilers while speaking to the press at the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards. The actress, alongside David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult, will be part of the highly anticipated superhero reboot, slated for release later this year.
During an interview on the red carpet with E! News, Brosnahan was asked about the upcoming film and what she could share. Smiling, she carefully responded, “Not much, as you can probably guess. But now that some details are out there, we’ve released the trailer, so I can say there’s a dog, a super guy, and a villain.”
However, as she continued, she nearly slipped up, catching herself mid-sentence. “It was such a fun experience, totally different from anything I’ve done before. And that’s part of the thrill of acting. I got to, oh I almost gave something away and then I didn’t. Oh my god.” Realizing her near-miss, she quickly backtracked, adding with a laugh, “I’m definitely not media-trained enough for this.”
She did manage to share one tidbit, referencing the trailer: “I got to fly! I can say that much. Hanging 60 feet in the air outside a Cleveland hotel was pretty exciting.”
Brosnahan also had a playful response when asked about her co-stars. Speaking to deadline, she humorously summed up her experience working with David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult, saying, “David is incredibly strong… and Nicholas is very bald.” With that, she refused to divulge any further details.
The upcoming ‘Superman’ film, directed by James Gunn and produced by Peter Safran, marks the beginning of the new DC Universe. The movie will follow Clark Kent, played by David Corenswet, as he navigates his dual identity—balancing his human upbringing with his Kryptonian heritage. Nicholas Hoult will take on the role of the villainous Lex Luthor, while Brosnahan will portray the iconic journalist Lois Lane.
The film’s ensemble cast also includes Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, and Milly Alcock. Fans can expect Superman to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
