No ‘day’ flights at Lucknow airport till mid July 2025; know the reason

New update coming from Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International (CCSI) Airport. The airport is getting a new runway upgrade in March 2025 for operational efficiency. Because of this, from March 1, the CCSI Airport will get a carpeting makeover on the primary runway, Runway 09/27. The work is supposed to be completed by July 15, 2025.
But the major news here is that during this upgrade work, which will run between 10 AM and 6 PM daily, no flights will operate here and will continue as scheduled outside of these hours. The airlines will operate before 10 AM and after 6 PM, ensuring air travel remains mostly unaffected. The airport’s management is developing a detailed flight flow strategy to handle air traffic efficiently.
However, despite the construction, the airport will manage a substantial number of flights, with 132 flights scheduled daily. This minor reduction highlights the airport’s ability to maintain high service levels even during significant upgrades. The recarpeting work is necessary as the runway, which measures 2,744 meters in length and 45 meters in width with a 7.5-meter shoulder on each side, was last renovated in 2018.
In addition to this, the Airport will also launch a new full-length parallel taxiway, measuring 2,744 meters. This new taxiway will allow passengers a quicker aircraft movement, improving the airport’s capacity and operational efficiency. A further expansion includes the construction of an extra taxiway, P9, within the same timeframe, further enhancing the airport’s capability.
The upgrade is being managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises. This project is part of AAHL’s ongoing efforts to provide top-tier facilities and improve the air travel experience in India. These enhancements highlight the importance of consistent infrastructure maintenance and improvements, ensuring that CCSI Airport continues to meet the evolving demands of air travel.

These major upgrades to Lucknow’s CCSI Airport, including runway recarpeting and new taxiways, demonstrate the airport’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and passenger convenience. Despite slight flight schedule adjustments, these improvements showcase AAHL’s dedication to enhancing India’s air travel infrastructure and add to passenger convenience overall.
