Success with re-releases of Mohanlal movies

Mohanlal’s earlier re-releases like ‘Spadikam’, ‘Devadoothan’, ‘Manichithrathazhu’, and ‘Chotta Mumbai’ have all witnessed massive crowds, proving that audiences still cherish the magic of these classics on the big screen. Controversy clouds Mammootty’s ‘Samrajyam’ re-release

While Ravanaprabhu’s return is being celebrated, a controversy had earlier happened around the re-release of Mammootty’s action film ‘Samrajyam’. Scheduled for October as well, the re-release has drawn criticism after the film’s original director Jomon clarified that he was never consulted about the project.Talking to Manorama Online, addressing viewers’ concerns over the clarity of the re-release trailer, Jomon stated, “I have nothing to do with the re-release of Samrajyam. The producers never spoke to me or sought my opinion.” The director also said that he had to face several criticisms from the audiences when ‘Samrajyam’ 2 was made with a Tamil filmmaker named Perarasu in the helm. ‘Samrajyam 2’ starring Unni Mukundan in the lead, had received mostly negative reviews from the audiences and turned out to be a flop.
