Justin Baldoni’s lawyer claims Blake Lively’s publicist is being used as a scapegoat in an ongoing lawsuit | English Movie News

Actor and director Justin Baldoni is in the middle of a major legal battle, and his team is refusing to let publicist Leslie Sloane off the hook. Sloane, who represents stars like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, asked to be removed from Baldoni’s lawsuit, but his lawyers have said no. According to Baldoni’s legal team, Sloane played a big role in a conspiracy against him.
The legal drama stems from serious allegations involving sexual harassment and retaliation. On March 6, 2025, Baldoni’s attorney responded to Sloane’s earlier request to be dismissed from the case. She filed that request on February 20, but Baldoni’s team strongly disagrees with her removal.
The case was filed in the Southern District of New York. In their response, Baldoni’s lawyer accused Sloane and her company of being part of a conspiracy meant to damage his production company, Wayfarer Studios. The attorney stated, “The Sloane Parties played an active and integral role in a conspiracy to inflict harm on the Wayfarer Parties.” They also claim that Leslie Sloane worked with Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and even The New York Times Company to protect Lively’s image and shift the blame onto Baldoni and his team.
Baldoni’s lawyer argued that Sloane and her company spent months spreading harmful rumors and false stories to journalists. According to them, this was done quietly behind the scenes while publicly leaving breadcrumbs to create suspicion. They believe these actions deeply harmed Baldoni and his company, causing damage that “cannot be measured.”
They added, “As a direct result of the actions of the Sloane Parties and their co-conspirators, the Wayfarer Parties have been damaged beyond measure.” Baldoni’s team insists they have proof and that they will show it when the case goes to trial.
On the other side, Leslie Sloane’s legal team has fired back. Her lawyer, Sigrid McCawley, who is a managing partner at Boies Schiller Flexner, released a statement reported by People magazine. She said, “Leslie Sloane and her company Vision PR were dragged into this lawsuit in an attempt to distract from serious allegations of sexual harassment and systematic retaliation.”
McCawley also pointed out the irony, saying that Baldoni and his team are accusing Sloane of the very things they are being accused of. She called the claims against Sloane baseless and described them as an unfair blame game. McCawley stated, “We look forward to setting the record straight on our grounds for dismissal and removing Leslie Sloane from this litigation, putting the rightful focus on the serious issues and allegations before the court.”
This lawsuit continues to make headlines, as it involves some of Hollywood’s most well-known names and serious accusations. It’s clear that both sides are preparing for a long legal fight.
