Malayalam cinema’s legendary actor Mammootty is all set to return to the film sets after nearly eight months of health-related break. The actor will resume shooting for the highly anticipated multistarrer ‘Patriot’, directed by Mahesh Narayanan, starting October 1. Joining co-stars in ‘Patriot’
‘Patriot’ brings together Mammootty, Mohanlal, and Fahadh Faasil, making it one of the most ambitious Malayalam projects in recent years. With nearly 60% of the film already completed, the schedule had been temporarily delayed due to Mammootty’s treatment in Chennai.
Controlled Hyderabad shoot for smooth progress
To ensure safety and minimize large crowds, the upcoming Hyderabad schedule has been carefully planned under controlled conditions, as per Mathrbhumi reports. The 74-year-old actor, who has been residing in Chennai close to his son Dulquer Salmaan and under medical supervision, will now continue filming in Hyderabad.Meanwhile, Mammootty has the most awaited upcoming project ‘Kalamkaval’ which also will feature Vinayakan in the lead role. Mammootty will be portraying a dark shaded character as hinted in the teaser for ‘Kalamkaval’.On the other hand, Mammootty’s previous outing was the game thriller movie ‘Bazooka’ which was directed by Deeno Dennis. Unfortunately the movie failed to impress the audiences and flopped. Mammootty was also in a cameo role in the recently released superhero film ‘Lokah’, where he played the character Moothon.
