Max Verstappen recently bonded with Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad as the two came together to take part in team promotions, just days before the latter is set to make his F1 debut in the upcoming season. Lindblad has now shared a fun video from their time together, in which Verstappen was humorously shocked to learn that the 18-year-old rookie doesn’t have a driver’s license yet. Verstappen then went on to share his own license story, which was just as special as the Red Bull champion himself.

Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad took to his Instagram Stories to share a video from their day out on track. It shows someone asking Lindblad when he got his driver’s license. When he replied after a pause, “I haven’t,” Verstappen overheard him and burst into laughter. He reacted by saying, “Really? Arvid, you don’t have a driver’s license?”When Lindblad confirmed, saying, “No. Not yet,” Verstappen responded, “Really? I didn’t know that. I got it on my birthday. I wanted to get it over with. It was a fun birthday. I actually made two mistakes. I didn’t yield, twice. One time I went left when I was supposed to go right. They were generous.”

How Racing Bulls is prepping Arvid Lindblad for his F1 debut
Arvid Lindblad has been a part of the Red Bull Junior Team, where he raced for Campos Racing and went on to become the youngest winner in Formula 2.Talking about preparing Lindblad for his debut F1 season, Racing Bulls boss Alan Permane told Motorsport Week, “We’re very fortunate, and Arvid’s very fortunate, that this season, although we’ve got a regulation change, he will have to get his head around it like everyone else. We’ve got triple the days of testing, so we’ve got nine days of testing instead of three. That will help him a lot, so instead of one and a half days, he gets four and a half days. That’s a big change and I’m sure it will be a big help to him.”He further added, “With Arvid, we’ll just give him the best preparation we can, and this team is very good at bringing on young drivers, helping them where we can, getting that focus on their driving and understanding the cars and that sort of thing. So we’re looking forward to him starting.”The 2026 F1 season has three test sessions lined up, first in Barcelona and then two in Bahrain. The official season will begin with the Australian Grand Prix on March 8.
