Throwback: When Johnny Gaudreau’s wife Meredith announced her third pregnancy in a heartbreaking statement at his memorial service
Johnny Gaudreau, the talented and popular player in the NHL, passed away last year in a tragic accident. Johnny Gaudreau and his AHL player brother, Matthew Gaudreau, tragically lost their lives in August 2024 when an alleged drunk driver struck the two as they were riding their bikes in Oldmans Township, New Jersey. While this was heartbreaking enough as fans grieved the loss of the talented brothers, Johnny Gaudreau’s wife, Meredith Gaudreau, made another heartbreaking announcement at their memorial service.
Johnny Gaudreau’s Wife, Meredith Gaudreau, Announced She Was Pregnant With Their Third Child, Days After He Passed
As per ABC News, Johnny Gaudreau’s wife, Meredith Gaudreau, announced that they were soon turning into a family of five.
She said, “John and I had the best six months as a family of four. These will forever be the best six months of my life.”
She added, “There’s specifically one week that I will cherish forever — it will be my favorite week of my life out of those six months. We’re actually a family of five. I’m in my ninth week of pregnancy with our third baby.”
According to ABC News, she also said, “His reaction was just immediately kissing me and hugging me…In less than three years of marriage, we’ve created a family of five. It doesn’t even sound possible, but I look at it as the ultimate blessing.”
Johnny Gaudreau married his wife, Meredith, in 2021 after dating her for a couple of years. The two met in New Jersey back in 2018 where Johnny Gaudreau would live during his offseason. As luck would have it, Meredith turned out to be his neighbour.
Within two years into their relationship, Johnny Gaudreau proposed to Meredith in September 2020. A year later, in September 2021, the two tied the knot at a beautiful wedding.
In September 2022, the two became parents for the first time and had welcomed their second child, just months before Johnny Gaudreau passed away.
Johnny Gaudreau’s wife, Meredith is yet to welcome their third child. She has been pretty active on her social media where she shares anecdotes from the live that she shared with the talented NHL player.
