After the third round, Ted Scott departed the Memphis, Tennessee, tournament owing to a family emergency back home in Louisiana. Seeking to close two strokes behind the leader, Scheffler began the final round. PGA Tour chaplain and Scheffler’s friend Brad Payne stepped in as a substitute caddie to support him. This was not Payne’s first helping Scheffler course trip.

For a long time, Ted Scott has been Scottie Scheffler’s caddie and understands how to provide assistance to the planet’s No. 1 player well.
