However, this is not the first time Durzi has been away from the rink, but the 26-year-old defenceman had been previously out for 52 games after suffering a serious shoulder injury.

Utah Mammoth defenceman Sean Durzi has recently suffered from a major upper-body injury while playing a match against the Nashville Predators on Saturday. Reports suggest that the 26-year-old player suffered an injury that appeared to affect his arm and shoulder after a hard hit. Announcing Sean Durzi’s injury, Cole Bagley wrote, Sean Durzi is expected to miss four weeks with an upper-body injury.Earlier, Durzi had struggled to stay healthy, having missed 52 games last season after undergoing shoulder surgery just four games into the campaign. Durzi only appeared in 30 games last season for Utah due to shoulder surgery, and it has come to light that his current injury is related to the same shoulder.Even though Durzi missed a significant part of last season, he delivered a solid performance for Utah. In 30 games, he scored four goals and totaled 11 points, averaging 20 minutes and 39 seconds of ice time per game while blocking 52 shots. He continued to show strong possession numbers, ending with a 52.9% CorsiFor percentage at even strength.
Revisiting Sean Durzi’s professional NHL career
After being selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round of the 2018 draft (52nd overall), Durzi spent four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League for development. Durzi was later dealt to the Los Angeles Kings in late January 2019. Next, he broke out during the 2019 OHL postseason, earning a berth on the Memorial Cup All-Star Team after helping lead Guelph to the league title. Following this, he opened the 2021-22 season in the American Hockey League with Ontario, scoring 16 points in 13 games to earn his first NHL call-up in November 2021.
