LUCKNOW: The Jail Administration and Reform Services Department on Monday suspended Ajay Kumar Singh, Jail Superintendent of District Jail Pratapgarh, with immediate effect following a departmental inquiry that found serious lapses in conduct and duty.According to the report submitted by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Prisons, Prayagraj Range, Singh was found guilty of inappropriate behavior towards his subordinates.The investigation, based on recorded statements and documentary evidence, revealed that Singh failed to grant essential leave to subordinate staff even during emergencies and did not comply with legitimate orders issued by senior officers.Moreover, Singh reportedly engaged in indecent, undignified, and unconstitutional behavior towards jail staff—actions deemed a direct violation of service conduct rules.In light of these findings, departmental disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Singh, alongside his suspension from duty, pending further action.
