MYSURU: A mechanical engineer who was running an HR consultancy firm allegedly hanged himself to death after murdering his mother, wife and son in their apartment in south Mysuru early Monday in a ghastly incident that sent shockwaves through the sleepy neighbourhood, reports Lawrence Milton.
GM Chethan (45) was deeply in debt as he had borrowed nearly Rs 3 crore from different financial institutions, including private moneylenders, police said. Chethan’s family was living in a flat in Vishweshwaranagar, and his mother lived alone in the next flat on the same floor. Police said a three-page note in English, written by Chethan and wife Roopali S, said they were facing financial difficulties of their own making.
