Etawah Accident: 2 dead, several injured as bus returning from Maha Kumbh collides with truck | Prayagraj News

NEW DELHI: Two women pilgrims died while 21 others sustained wounds when a bus returning from the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh crashed into a truck on the Agra-Kanpur highway bypass in Etawah district on Monday morning.
The accident took place when the bus crashed into a truck from behind as the driver fell asleep.
The injured pilgrims have been admitted to the district hospital. The accident occurred after six in the morning.
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and sent the injured to the district hospital by ambulance.

SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma stated that the pilgrims were traveling from Prayagraj to Noida after taking a holy dip in the ongoing Maha Kumbh.
“A crane is being used to remove the bus from the site. The deceased include a 55-year-old woman named Meera, whose address is unknown, and 35-year-old Neelu, wife of Manoj, residing at 128 JP Hospital, Noida,” SSP added.
