Delhi elections 2025: INDIA allies blame disunity for AAP’s solo flight crash | India News

AAP’s defeat in Delhi assembly elections triggered sharp reactions from allies within INDIA bloc, with many blaming the lack of a united front against BJP.
Shiv Sena (UBT) politician Sanjay Raut said Saturday had Congress and AAP contested together, the outcome would have been different. “If BJP is the common opponent of AAP and Congress, both should have been fighting unitedly,” he said.
Trinamool Congress hinted at missed opportunities, with spokesperson Kunal Ghosh saying if Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s electoral strategy – allowing the strongest anti-BJP force in each region to lead – had been followed, BJP’s landslide win might have been avoided.

Banerjee had said that Congress had benefited from this formula in UP, Jharkhand and the southern states in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha termed the results as AAP’s “political blunder”. JMM central general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said: “Congress was left with little option when Arvind Kejriwal announced to go solo.”
CPM and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) blamed divisions within the alliance for BJP’s victory. CPM’s Kerala secretary MV Govindan criticised Congress, saying a united front could have secured 50% of the vote. IUML’s PK Kunhalikutty echoed similar sentiments, stressing that unity was crucial for success.
