NEW DELHI: DMK has on Wednesday announced its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections scheduled for 19 June 2025.The party will field three candidates, P Wilson, S R Sivalingam and poet Salma (Rokkaya Malik), while one seat will be allocated to the Kamal Haasan-led Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) as part of a poll alliance.In the Legislative Council member election scheduled to be held on June 19, 2025, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) will field candidates in four constituencies. Out of these four seats, three will have DMK candidates, and as per the existing agreement, one seat will be allotted to the Makkal Needhi Maiam party, the statement reads.The DMK candidates are:
- Mr. P. Wilson, B.Sc., B.L.
- Mr. S.R. Sivalingam
- Rokkaya Malik (also known as) Poet Salma

The main opposition, AIADMK, led by Edappadi K Palaniswami, with 62 MLAs, is expected to win two seats, boosted by its alliance with the BJP and support from the O Panneerselvam faction. AIADMK is reportedly planning to nominate candidates from Dalit and minority communities.Counting of votes will take place on the evening of 19 June, concluding the election process.
