AAP leader, his girlfriend and 4 hitmen arrested for wife’s murder in Ludhiana | Ludhiana News

LUDHIANA: Ludhiana police have arrested an AAP worker, his girlfriend and four contract killers for the murder of Manvi Mittal alias Lipsy, 33, on Sunday.
The police stated that the victim had discovered her husband’s extramarital affair, leading to frequent conflicts between the couple. In response, the husband and his girlfriend allegedly conspired to eliminate her.
The arrested accused include AAP leader Anokh Mittal, his girlfriend Pratiksha, and hired killers Amritpal Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Sonu Singh, and Sagardeep Singh. Another contract killer, Gurpreet Singh Gopi, is yet to be apprehended.
Initially, Mittal had claimed that he and his wife were returning home after dinner on the Ludhiana-Malerkotla road when five assailants in a car attacked them near Dehlon bypass.
He alleged that he had stopped the car to urinate when the attackers hit him with a rod and drugged him, causing him to lose consciousness. He further claimed that the assailants assaulted his wife before fleeing with their gold, cash, mobile phones, and car.
However, the police found his story suspicious.
Ludhiana commissioner of police Kuldeep Singh Chahal stated, “Anokh Mittal and his girlfriend Pratiksha conspired to kill Lipsy after she discovered their affair. Mittal and Pratiksha wanted to be together, so they hired contract killers for Rs 2.5 lakh. The accused also admitted that Mittal had attempted to kill his wife twice before but had failed.”
