The much-anticipated historical drama ‘Chhaava‘, starring Vicky Kaushal, is off to an impressive start with its advance bookings ahead of its box office showdown with Marvel’s ‘Captain America: Brave New World‘.
According to data from Sacnilk, ‘Chhaava’ has already amassed an all-India net collection of Rs 2.29 crore in advance ticket sales, excluding block seats. The Hindi 2D shows contributed Rs 2.20 crore, followed by Rs 5.79 lakh from IMAX 2D screenings, with the remaining earnings coming from 4DX and ICE formats.
With blocked seats included, the film’s estimated advance collection rises to Rs 3.41 crore. Maharashtra has recorded the highest bookings, with an estimated Rs 1.56 crore net collection and Rs 2.09 crore including blocked seats. Delhi, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Telangana round out the top five states, with collections ranging between Rs 8.21 lakh and Rs 13 lakh.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, ‘Chhaava’ boasts a star-studded cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta. The film is set to release on Friday, February 14, where it will face stiff competition from the Hollywood superhero film ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, starring Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford.
While ‘Chhaava’ will bring the story Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to screens, ‘Brave New World’ marks the next chapter of the Mackie-led Captain America who will face-off against Ford’s Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross who goes on to assume the role of the Red Hulk.
With strong advance bookings and high anticipation, ‘Chhaava’ has reportedly taken the lead in the box office bookings. However, it remains to be seen which hero emerges victorious in this box office clash over the Valentines weekend.
