Bombay HC grants bail to two individuals held over ‘plot’ to kill Salman Khan: Report | Hindi Movie News
The Bombay High Court has reportedly granted bail to two individuals arrested in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The accused, identified as Gaurav Bhatia, alias Sandeep Bishnoi, and Waspi Mehmud Khan, were taken into custody last year for allegedly being part of a criminal conspiracy orchestrated by the Bishnoi gang.
According to PTI, the detailed court order is yet to be released. However, the Navi Mumbai Police had earlier claimed that the duo, along with several other suspects, conducted surveillance at multiple locations linked to Salman Khan, including his Panvel farmhouse, Bandra residence, and various shooting locations. The case, filed against 18 members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, accused them of planning an attack on the Bollywood star.
The case gained further attention after two individuals from the Bishnoi gang fired gunshots outside Khan’s Bandra residence in April 2024. Investigations revealed that the alleged masterminds behind the plot included jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, his absconding brother Anmol, and other associates such as Sampat Nehra, Goldie Brar, and Rohit Godhara.
Authorities also uncovered information suggesting that one of the suspects was in contact with a Pakistan-based individual to procure high-grade weapons, including AK-47 rifles. Their plan allegedly involved regrouping in Kanyakumari before attempting to flee to Sri Lanka. The investigation into the broader conspiracy is still ongoing.
On the work front, Salman is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Sikander’ on March 28. The action film by AR Murugadoss also features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.
