Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are reuniting after 15 years for the much-anticipated horror-comedyBhooth Bangla‘, produced by Ekta Kapoor. The film, scheduled for an April 2026 release, features a stellar ensemble cast, including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Mithila Palkar. The team recently wrapped up a key schedule in Hyderabad, with the final phase of shooting set to take place in February 2025.
According to Pinkvilla, Akshay Kumar and Tabu have filmed a grand classical dance sequence for ‘Bhooth Bangla’ during their Hyderabad schedule. Composed by Pritam, the song reportedly features Tabu in a never-seen-before avatar, performing an intricate classical Indian dance alongside Akshay. The sequence is expected to be one of the film’s major highlights, appearing at a crucial moment in the story. With its elaborate choreography and visually striking presentation, the song aims to leave a lasting impact on audiences.
Priyadarshan, known for his expertise in comedy and visually rich storytelling, is blending horror, supernatural elements, and humor in ‘Bhooth Bangla’. The film is said to incorporate mythological aspects seamlessly into its eerie yet comedic narrative. Reports suggest that Priyadarshan has meticulously shot these elements to enhance the film’s authenticity and grandeur.
Wamiqa Gabbi plays Akshay Kumar’s love interest, while Mithila Palkar portrays his sister. The movie reunites Akshay with his iconic comedy collaborators from films like Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Adding to the excitement, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ brings back the legendary trio of Akshay Kumar, Priyadarshan, and Pritam, who previously created the cult classic Ami Je Tomar from ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ (2007). The film promises to deliver a unique blend of music, dance, and spine-chilling comedy.
