Popular Malayalam film actor Biju Kuttan met with a road accident early Friday morning while on his way to cast his vote in the high-profile Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) office bearers’ election.As reported by the Manorama Online website, the incident took place around 6 a.m. near the Kannadi North junction on the Palakkad national highway.According to police, Biju Kuttan was returning from Coimbatore when the car he was travelling in rammed into a stationary container lorry. “Preliminary assessment suggests the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel,” officers reportedly said. The impact caused significant damage to the front of the vehicle.
Actor suffers arm injury, driver critical
Biju Kuttan, who was seated in the passenger seat, sustained injuries to his arm. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital in Palakkad, where doctors confirmed that his injuries were not serious. “He was fortunate to escape with relatively minor wounds,” a hospital source noted.The driver of the car was not as lucky. He suffered severe injuries in the crash and is undergoing intensive medical care. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident.
