Mysuru shocker: Family of 4 attacked with machetes in full public view; accused on the run

MYSURU: Four members of a family were brutally attacked with sharp weapons while they wete travelling in an auto-rickshaw in Mysuru late on Thursday. Police have a taken up case on charges of attempt to murder by four persons.The incident occurred on 14th cross Ramanuja Road in Agrahara,around 9.30 pm. A footage attacking the auto passengers has gone viral. A group of men are seen allegedly assaulting the occupants with machetes in full public view. No passers-by dared to try to prevent the attack.The incident was captured on CCTV and mobile phone cameras. Footage being circulated on social media shows panicked bystanders as the assailants flee the scene.All four victims including Rajanna, who sustained serious injuries, were rushed to a nearby hospital and according to police the injured are out of danger.DCP (Crime) KS Sundar Raj said a case of attempt to murder against four is registered and investigation has been launched by Krishnaraja police. An officer explained that the attack happened when Rajanna, an accused in POCSCO case, was leaving Vidyaranyapuram police station after giving his statement in the case. His wife, mother-in-law and his niece were with him in the auto at the time of attack. Rajanna is facing charges of abusing a minor girl and recently he had met the girl again after she turned 18 years. This irked girl’s family who attacked him while he was traveling in the auto.
