Aiman Kalia: People feel that for TV shows one has to get up early and work for long hours, but I see it as a blessing

Actor Aiman Kalia who made his TV debut with the show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein has been part of the web show Jamnapar and some short films. The working style on the web and TV is quite different he feels.
Talking about it, he says, “OTT platforms work very differently than TV. In films and web series, you get the entire script in advance, allowing you to study it, break it down, and prepare your character thoroughly. However, in TV shows, the script is constantly evolving. You don’t always know what’s coming next, which makes it exciting. Every day feels like an adventure because you only get to see what happens next when the script arrives. Both are different in their own ways. On TV, you get to know your character more deeply every day.”
Ask him what he finds the most challenging while acting on TV, and he says, “Honestly, there are no challenges. People feel that for TV shows one has to get up early and work for long hours, but I see it as a blessing. Working on a daily soap does take up a significant amount of time. Since I spend a large part of the month shooting for Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein, I can’t take up other projects like ads, other shows, or OTT work. My shifts are usually 13 to 14 hours long. When I am working on a project, I spend around 15 to 20 days a month on set.”
But Aiman believes in managing multiple things at the same time. He adds, “However, on the days I am not actively shooting, I stay fully prepared. I keep myself ready, sit on set, and go over my lines. I also carry a small diary with me, where I note down all my pending tasks that need to be managed.I just try to manage it all.”
