Lachie Neale, an Australian football player, has resigned from his position as co-captain of the Brisbane Lions, amid rumors that his marriage had broken down.Lachie, a two-time Brownlow Medal winner, is awarded to the best player each season in the Australian Football League “I can say that I have let my family down, and I apologize for my actions, which have hurt those closest to me, and for that I am deeply sorry.” Neale, 32, said in a press conference on Friday, January 2. “I accept this is a consequence of my actions, and I need to focus on rebuilding that trust with Jules, as the future well-being of our children remains the No. 1 priority.” Moreover, he adds, “I’m extremely disappointed in myself, and I’ve put plans in place to do the work on myself so that I can be the best version of myself.”This press conference took place at Brisbane’s headquarters.
