Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi have successfully sold their Montecito home for $5.2 million, surpassing the original asking price of $4.9 million.
Listed through Riskin Partners Estate Group of Village Properties/Forbes Global Properties, the property attracted significant interest, receiving multiple offers within just two days of hitting the market, according to People.
Originally built in 1954, the 1,691-square-foot residence underwent a major remodel in 2012. DeGeneres and de Rossi purchased the home in 2021 for $2.9 million, as reported by Architectural Digest, making the recent sale a notable profit for the couple.
This high-profile real estate transaction follows the couple’s decision to relocate overseas. In November 2024, DeGeneres and de Rossi moved to England, reportedly in response to the election of US President Donald Trump. Their departure was preceded by the sale of another multimillion-dollar Montecito property in August 2024.
A source told People that DeGeneres had been house-hunting in England as early as October and quickly found a home she loved, finalising the purchase shortly after.
