The mother of late actress Kim Sae Ron has issued a new public statement, criticising actor Kim Soo Hyun’s lawyer and addressing the continuous harassment from the actor’s fans. In a statement released on November 27, through her legal representative, Kim Sae Ron’s mother said she received only “mockery, sarcasm, and insults” after the release of her initial statement on November 26.

Kim Sae Ron’s mother calls out lawyer

In the statement published by AllKPop, the grieving mother slammed attorney Go Sang Rok, who represents Kim Soo Hyun. According to her, the lawyer used his social media platforms to criticise the late actress, allegedly referring to her as “a crazy person suffering bipolar disorder,” “a mentally unstable person obsessed with men,” and “an underaged minor obsessed with men.” She added that Go Sang Rok also mocked the family with remarks such as, “You’re doing such a wonderful job of protecting the honour of the deceased,” and, “People who threw the honour of the deceased to the dogs.” Kim Sae Ron’s mother confirmed that formal complaints have been filed with the Korean Bar Association and the Seoul District Association of Lawyers, requesting disciplinary action against him.

Shares update on police investigation

Addressing the ongoing backlash from Kim Soo Hyun’s fans, she stated that despite her previous clarification, some supporters continue to leave malicious comments and taking swings at the family, telling them to “go get questioned by the police” or “turn the phone in.”She also said that the family had already completed all required police questioning in July and had even submitted Kim Sae Ron’s phone and other electronic devices for the police to carry out their investigations. She further claimed that, to her knowledge, Kim Soo Hyun “has yet to attend questioning” in connection with a lawsuit the family filed in May for alleged violations of South Korea’s Child Welfare Act.

Asks fans to stop spreading rumours

She concluded, “We earnestly ask that Kim Soo Hyun’s fans stop inflicting secondary harm on all those involved.”On November 26 KST, Kim Sae Ron’s mother released her first statement presenting ‘evidence’ that Kim Soo Hyun allegedly dated her daughter Kim Sae Ron while she was still a minor.
