Kim Soo Hyun’s series Knock Off halts filming indefinitely amid Kim Sae Ron scandal and 12 Billion lawsuit

The highly anticipated original series Knock Off, starring actor Kim Soo Hyun, has officially halted filming indefinitely amid the lead star’s alleged scandals.
A report on Allkpop confirmed on April 23rd KST that the production team has formally notified cast and crew of the decision to pause all filming activities. This development follows an earlier announcement by Disney+ abou postponing the release date of the web series, as they “carefully deliberate” their next course of action.
The move comes as Kim Soo Hyun continues to face public scrutiny over allegations linked to his past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The actor has been accused of having dated Kim while she was still an underage teenage. He has also been accused of pressuring her to repay debts incurred from a DUI incident.
Kim in a press meet, categorically denied all allegations while breaking down in tears over the allegations. Despite this, the controversy has persisted.
According to reports, Knock Off was nearing the end of its production cycle, with the 18-episode script reportedly completed. Initially, producers had intended to continue filming and quietly wrap the project amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the lead star. However, internal deliberations ultimately led to the indefinite suspension, with many cast and crew now moving on to other commitments.
While the series is not expected to be cancelled entirely, its future is now tied to the resolution of Kim Soo Hyun’s legal drama. The actor has filed a 12 billion KRW (approx. $8.4 million USD) defamation lawsuit against individuals affiliated with the controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, the site that posted many of the allegations against him.
