Talking about the looks, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali mentioned that the singer wore a wig for the film, ditching the classic turban. “I would not want to share his personal details, but yes, Diljit has worn a wig. That wig is like his turban only. He has not sacrificed a single hair for this film,” he said in an interview with Radio Nasha, before adding, “He donned the look very sincerely and with very good intentions.”

The comment reminded the fans of the time when Diljit Dosanjh refused to shoot any sequence in the film without his turban. Respecting his culture and tradition, the 41-year-old claimed that wearing the turban is his identity and emotion. While he had been offered many roles in Bollywood, he didn’t accept them, believing that it would not make a difference. “Even now, my favourite directors from Bollywood have offered me films which I cannot do because they want me to do it without a turban, and that’s not possible,” he stated in an interview with DNA.“Turban is my identity, it’s my emotion,” he added. He has stayed true to his morals and even criticised the foolish jokes in Bollywood films that revolved around identity. “When we used to watch films in Punjab, we used to think who they were referring to, as we are not like this. Why were they doing it [cracking jokes]? I used to feel angry,” he said during a conversation with FM Radio Nasha.Changing the tables, Diljit Dosanjh graciously posed in his turban during the MET Gala 2025. The look instantly became internationally favourite for the surreal details, honouring the culture. Along with the world tour, the singer has been thriving in his identity and charismatic confidence, becoming a stepping stone.
