While it was initially reported that shooting would start by late November, insiders have revealed that the production is currently happening in Mumbai. The show, combining elements of comedy and drama centered around sisterhood, will bring back Ananya along with most of the original cast members.
Director Collin D’Cunha returns as team reunites
As per reported in Mid-day, the team took the second edition to floors earlier this week in Mumbai with Collin D’Cunha back in the director’s chair. It’s a homecoming for the whole team, which is reuniting after a year.
Original cast to reprise roles with new additions possible
Along with Ananya, the key cast members such as Gurfateh Pirzada, Vir Das, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, and Niharika Lyra Dutt are set to reprise their roles. Reportedly, right now, Ananya has begun shooting. Soon, she will be joined by Vir and others. There are also likely to be new additions to the cast, which the makers want to keep under wraps.
Season 2 to have eight episodes and emphasize sisterhood
Similar to its first season, Call Me Bae 2 will feature eight episodes. Report says the idea is to take [the show] notches higher. And there will, of course, be sisterhood, which also formed the core of ‘Call Me Bae’. The new season is anticipated to premiere in the latter half of 2026.
