Weezer’s Scott Shriner’s wife Jillian involved in police shooting incident, LAPD shares body cam video | English Movie News

New details have come out about Jillian Shriner, who is the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has now made public a body camera video showing what happened during a recent incident where Jillian was shot in the shoulder by police officers in Los Angeles.
According to a report by Newsweek, the incident took place on April 8 in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles. The police had been searching for three suspects involved in a hit-and-run case when they came across Jillian Shriner in her garden. Officers noticed she was carrying a handgun.
The body cam footage reportedly captured the officers repeatedly asking Jillian to put her weapon down. One officer could be heard saying, “Ma’am, we’re trying to help you,” while another warned her, “You’re going to get shot, it’s the police,” urging her to lower her gun.
Despite the warnings, Jillian apparently did not comply. Officers at the scene stated that Jillian raised the gun, although she did not directly aim it at anyone. One officer mentioned that Jillian “racked” the gun, which usually means preparing it to fire. Following this action, several gunshots rang out, and an officer was heard urgently calling for backup, saying “shots fired” and “officer needs help.” It is still unclear who fired the first shot during the confrontation.
Authorities confirmed that Jillian was hit in the shoulder by police gunfire. After being shot, she reportedly went back inside her house before eventually surrendering to the police. She was later taken to the hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, Jillian Shriner was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. LAPD also recovered a 9mm handgun from her property. Additionally, a 911 call between Jillian and an emergency operator was released. During the call, Jillian reportedly said that she had told the officers to put down their guns and that after she said this, they shot her.
Meanwhile, regarding the original hit-and-run investigation, police mentioned that one of the three individuals they were looking for had been arrested, while the other two are still at large.
