Vishwak Sen's 'Laila' leaked online hours after release

Vishwak Sen’s ‘Laila,’ an action-comedy where he plays a dual role including disguising himself as a woman, hit theaters on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025. However, the film has already fallen victim to piracy, with high-definition copies appearing on illegal websites just hours after its release.
Bunny Vas, the producer of ‘Thandel,’ expressed his disappointment after a pirated version of his film was screened on a public bus. He urged authorities to take action against the screening of pirated content.
Recently, several industry figures have spoken out against piracy and about the harm it causes to the film industry. Other films, including ‘Game Changer,’ ‘Pushpa 2,’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ and ‘Ponman,’ have also been leaked online, raising concerns about the industry’s ability to combat piracy. While some films have remained largely unaffected, others have faced setbacks at the box office due to illegal downloads.
‘Laila’ tells the story of Sonu, a beautician who disguises himself as Laila to escape a dangerous situation, leading to comedic and action-packed events. The film stars Vishwak Sen and Aakanksha Sharma, with a supporting cast that includes Abhimanyu Singh and Vennela Kishore.
‘Laila’ received an “A” certificate from the censor board. The film has a run time of 2 hours and 16 minutes.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “Once again the pirated version of our #Thandel played on the @apsrtc bus (Vehicle No: AP 39 WB. 5566). Piracy harms the film industry and disrespects creators’ hard work. APSRTC Chairman #KonakallaNarayanaRao Garu, kindly ensure a strict circular is issued, prohibiting the screening of pirated movie footage in all buses across the state.”
