Torque of the town: A night of blazing speed, soaring stunts & epic spectacle!

After hosting India’s first night street race last year, on Saturday, Chennai revved up once again with the popular motorsport festival, Moto Jam. Held at the Island Grounds, the event turned out to be an adrenalinefuelled extravaganza featuring high-octane stunts, gravity-defying bike tricks, thrilling car drifts, and jaw-dropping freestyle motocross (FMX) performances.
The event featured a stellar lineup of international athletes, each delivering performances that left the audience in awe. Lithuanian stunt rider Aras Gibieža, who captivated spectators with his precision and flair, shared, “Except the heat, everything is fine about Chennai. Performing here is really good, and it’s amazing to be in the motorsport city of India.”
Lebanese rally legend and Guinness World Record holder Abdo Feghali, who unleashed his drifting prowess, emphasised how safety is top priority in motorsports, and added, “I’d say there’s not much of a difference between motorsports in India and other countries. It’s all about how you create a revolution out of it. It’s great to see many drivers emerging from India for MotoGP and other international racing, and I’m happy to see motorsports growing here.”
The FMX lineup, featuring athletes Sebastian Westberg, Vivian Ganther, and Thomas Wirnsberger, delivered gravity-defying stunts that kept the crowd on their seat’s edge right until the end.
