Lawson recently opened up about how the group chat for film is always buzzing, and how everyone still keeps in touch. While talking to People, the actress revealed that “Oh, we talk constantly. The group chats are on fire. It was a lot of [screaming], you know, back and forth with each other [after the Grammy nominations were announced]. I love my [Sinners] family, and it’s exciting that I get to see them and hang out with them.”

‘Sinners’ has managed to score a total of 5 Grammy nominations this year, and has left the cats elated with anticipation and excitement. Not only that, but the film has been generating Oscar nomination buzz as well, which the cast is looking forward to.Lawson revealed that “We were hoping that that would be the case when we were filming, that this wouldn’t just stop in New Orleans. And the fact that [the hype] keeps continuing and potentially continues into next year, it’s just an exciting, exciting, rewarding feeling.”
Premise of ‘Sinners’
The premise of the story is based on the lives of twins Elijah “Smoke” and Elias “Stack” Moore, who, after years of working with the Chicago Mafia, return to their Mississippi Delta hometown. Set in 1932, the film follows as the two brothers try to open a juke joint for the local Black community. While things go well and their night starts off as a big success, the sudden appearance of a mysterious man and two other people asking to be let in brings in a night of despair.
