‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ box office collection Day 2: Pedro Pascal–Vanessa Kirby starrer sees good growth; Marvel superhero film crosses Rs 12.5 crore in India |

Marvel Studios’ ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’, directed by Matt Shakman, saw its momentum build up both in India and at the global box office. After opening to an estimated Rs 5.5 crore, the film registered strong growth on Day 2, collecting approximately Rs 7 crore, taking its total Indian box office collection to Rs 12.5 crore, as per early estimates from Sacnilk. This growth comes despite stiff competition from the Bollywood release, Mohit Suri’s ‘Saiyaara’, which continues to dominate the domestic box office. Still, ‘The Fantastic Four’ has managed to gain a footing at the box office and see an overall 47.60% occupancy for its English shows. With the collections crossing the Rs 10 crore mark, it remains to be seen if the film has what it takes to cross the Rs 20 crore mark by the end of its first weekend at the box office.
North American Box Office
In North America, the film topped Friday’s box office chart with an estimated $57 million, outperforming pre-release projections and positioning itself for a franchise-best domestic debut in the $120 million–$125 million range. ‘First Steps’ now boasts the second-biggest opening day of 2025 in the US, trailing only behind ‘Minecraft: The Movie’ which earned $57.1 million. Thursday previews alone brought in $24.4 million, making it the highest preview gross of the year so far, overtaking DC’s ‘Superman’, which earned $22.5 million and set it up to become the biggest preview performance since Marvel’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ hit screens in 2024 and scored an impressive $38.5 million. If the film can keep up to its current pace, the reboot can go on to become the best domestic opening for since 2022’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’.
Global Numbers
Internationally, the film is also off to a stellar start, earning $49.2 million overseas. This brings its worldwide box office total to $106.2 million.Starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, ‘First Steps’ marks the beginning of a new chapter for Marvel’s first family which is expected to expand in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
