The Ba***ds of Bollywood actor Lakshya on his bond with Aryan Khan— 'My father said, ‘He doesn’t look like he’s Shah Rukh Khan’s ’son'—THROWBACK

As Aryan Khan gears up for his much-awaited directorial debut, ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood,’ all eyes are on the star cast that includes Lakshya, Bobby Deol, and Sahher Bambba, alongside cameos by Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Karan Johar. Ahead of the show’s September 18 premiere, Lakshya’s past reflections on his bond with Aryan resurface as a telling glimpse into their friendship.Earlier in a candid conversation with Fever FM last year, Lakshya shared how close Aryan was to him and his family. “Aryan (Khan) humaare dost hain. Aryan was there in the screening, and I made him meet my parents. And my father said, ‘He doesn’t look like he’s Shah Rukh Khan’s son.’ Like, “Woh, pair wair” (proceeded to make the gesture of touching feet), matlab, “he’s just a perfect example of how a boy should be,” he recalled warmly.

Lakshya’s take on nepotism

When asked about the ongoing debate on nepotism, Lakshya offered a refreshing take, dismissing the idea of any real divide within the industry. “Difference, I think, is that bahar waale log zyaada banate hain. Andar kuchh hai nahi (I think the difference is mostly created by people on the outside). Inside the industry, there is really no such divide,” he explained.Speaking of his friends, he added, “Aadhe toh mere dost hi hain saare. Janhvi (Kapoor), Shanaya (Kapoor), Ananya (Panday), and Agastya (Nanda). Aur itne sahi log hain naa yeh. Itne correct hain, koi complications nahi hai, koi insecurities nahi hain. Apna kaam karte hain aur tameesdaar log hain.”

Lakshya’s big break

For Lakshya, ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ marks a significant milestone. His road to the big screen was far from easy; his debut was delayed multiple times. Initially set to launch with ‘Dostana 2’ alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan, the project was shelved. Later, Bedhadak, opposite Shanaya Kapoor, also got dropped. It was finally ‘Kill,’ one of 2024’s most successful films, that brought him recognition. Now, after winning hearts with his breakout role, Lakshya stands ready to headline Aryan Khan’s directorial debut and will also appear in Chand Mera Dil, opposite Ananya Panday.
