Sunny Deol’s Jaat makes a modest start of Rs 48 lakhs at the advance booking window, trails Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly

Sunny Deol’s upcoming action drama Jaat is gearing up for release on April 10, but the film has had a relatively slow start at the advance booking counters. As per early data, the film has managed to collect Rs 12.79 lakh through ticket sales, translating to 10,965 tickets sold across 1,544 shows in the Hindi 2D format as per Sacnilk.
However, when factoring in block bookings—the total jumps significantly to Rs 48.04 lakh. While this may indicate some backing from exhibitors and fans in select circuits, the real-time footfall still leaves much to be desired just days ahead of the release.
The underwhelming advance booking numbers for Jaat become even more glaring when compared to its competition. Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly, also hitting theatres on April 10, has taken a commanding lead in the advance booking race. The Ajith-starrer has already sold tickets worth a whopping Rs 13.70 crore, including block bookings. Even without block seats, Good Bad Ugly has clocked Rs 12.33 crore in pure advance sales—a stark contrast to Jaat’s numbers.
The clash is shaping up to be a classic North vs South showdown, but the early momentum is clearly with Ajith Kumar. His strong fan base, especially in Tamil Nadu and the southern belt, seems to be driving the surge in bookings, while Jaat appears to be relying on Sunny Deol’s mass appeal and word-of-mouth closer to release.
While it’s too early to predict the final outcome at the box office, the current advance booking trends indicate that Jaat will need a strong push from spot bookings and positive audience reception to hold its ground. The coming days will be crucial for the film to build buzz and pull in the masses.
Jaat also stars Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar Siingh , Reginda Cassandra and Saiyami Kher. The film marks Sunny’s return to big screen after the super success of Gadar 2.
