Actor Arun Vijay recently opened up about his upcoming action thriller film ‘Retta Thala’. Speaking at the film’s recent press meet, Arun Vijay said that this film will have a completely different story structure from typical action films. Arun Vijay stated that the plot, which revolves around characters standing at two opposite poles, is designed to engage the audience from start to finish. He also emphasized that the highlight of this film is the emphasis placed on the story and characters, along with the commercial aspects.
Arun Vijay compares ‘Retta Thala’ with ‘Thadam’
Comparing it to the film ‘Thadam’, if the difference between the characters in the dual roles in that film was significant, Arun Vijay explained that ‘Retta Thala’ goes a step further and puts two completely different people on the stage. When these two characters meet at a crucial moment, the consequences that arise form the focus of the film. In particular, he said that a decision made after that meeting will change the course of the story and create a major twist at the climax. He also shared his hope that since both characters are designed to be equally strong, the story will move forward in a way that leaves no one behind.
Arun Vijay plays two contrasting avatars
Arun Vijay appears in two completely different looks in the film. The character Malpe Upendra, from a town called ‘Malpe’, comes with thick hair, a beard, and a unique backstory. In contrast, another character, ‘Kali’, exhibits a distinct dimension in her body language, thinking, and expression. Arun Vijay says that although portraying both these roles in the same film was challenging, it was an experience that further developed him as an actor.
‘Retta Thala’ gears up for a Christmas Day release
Arun Vijay also said that the film ‘Retta Thala’ is only two hours long and all the action scenes in it will be only those necessary for the story. He noted that he has tried to present the action in an innovative way, while at the same time keeping the romantic aspect as the emotional center of the film. Directed by Kris Thirukumaran, who directed films like ‘Maan Karate’ and ‘Gethu’, the film stars Siddhi Idnani, Tanya Ravichandran, and Yogesh in important roles. ‘Retta Thala’, composed by Sam CS, is gearing up to release in theaters on Christmas Day, December 25th.
