Diwali got brighter for Superstar Rajinikanth‘s fans as the makers of his film ‘Jailer 2’ went on to share some behind the scenes clips of the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial.
BTS video includes action and fun moments

About the film
‘Jailer 2’ was written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and is the sequel to ‘Jailer’ released in 2023. Rajinikanth reprises his titular role, alongside Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa, who return to their respective roles from the first film. Additionally, SJ Suryah joins the cast.
Mithun Chakraborty joins the cast
Interestingly, Bollywood veteran Mithun Chakraborty, is reportedly playing a full-fledged role that is crucial to the story. Fans are particularly thrilled to see Mithun share screen space with Rajinikanth, especially considering their brief on-screen collaborations in the past with ‘Bhrastachar’ (1989) in Hindi and ‘Bhagya Devta’ (1997) in Bengali.The film also features cameo appearances by Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar and Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna.‘Jailer 2’ is set to hit theatres on June 12, 2026.
About the first installment
The first part was around Rajinikanth as Muthuvel Pandian, a retired jailer living a peaceful life with his family until his son, ACP Arjun, goes missing while investigating an idol smuggling gangster named Varman. Arjun’s disappearance is covered up by the police, leading Muthuvel to seek justice himself.
