Priyanka Chopra recently took to her social media account to share a heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the WAVES 2025 Summit. WAVES, or The World Audiovisual and Entertainment Summit, is to be held between May 1 and May 4 at Mumbai.

The actress shared a video where she thanked the Prime Minister for taking a “bold step” for the country to step towards the global stage.
In the video, she shared that “Hello everyone. I wanted to take a moment to talk about something truly historic that’s happening right now. For the first time ever, India is hosting the World Audiovisual and Entertainment Summit, WAVES, in Mumbai from May 1st to the 4th. Now this isn’t just another conference. WAVES is India’s bold step onto the world stage. A signal that our creative economy is not just thriving but ready to lead.”
Expresses gratitude towards PM Modi and the government bodies of India for the initiative
In the same video, the ‘Mary Kom’ actress shared how the Prime Minister, as well as all the government bodies in India deserve a heartfelt thank you for giving the creators of the country “industry recognition”.
She stated in her video that “And today WAVES is doing exactly that, thanks to the vision of our esteemed Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi Ji, and the incredible support of the various ministries working to give media, entertainment and the creator economy the true industry recognition that it deserves.”
A space for unity for all creative sectors
The ‘Quantico’ actress also took to the video to share how the summit is meant to be an open and unified space for all creative sectors to thrive in. She shared, “For the first time, India’s diverse industries, from cinema to gaming to tech, are all coming together… WAVES is a bridge from our timeless storytelling traditions to the future of global entertainment… India’s always had the talent and the culture. Now we have the platform.”
