Prabhas’s Bahubali- The Epic beats Pawan Kalyan’s ‘ Gabbar Singh’ as the biggest day 1 collection for a re-released film in India | Telugu Movie News
When it comes to Bahubali franchise, be it during its original release or now during its re-release, record books are always tumbling. During its original release, Bahubali- The Beginning blurred the lines of regional cinema and during Bahubali- The Conclusion, it not only became the first film in Hindi to cross the Rs 500 crore mark but also became the first film ever to earn Rs 1000 crore at the box office. And now on the occasion of its 10 anniversary where SS Rajamouli has put together both the films into one 3 hour 45 minute saga as Bahubali – The Epic, the film has started its journey on a record breaking note. The film led by Prabhas and Rana Daggubati has gone to become the biggest day 1 collection for a re-released by minting Rs 9.25 crore on its opening day going past the record set by Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh which had minted Rs 5.75 crore during its release .The magic of Bahubali- The Epic is not limited to just India, even in North America, where Bahubali 2 still hold the record for highest grossing Indian film minted over USD 100,000 till early evening for its Day 1 and as per sources its premiere shows have collected nearly USD 500,000.The film though has failed to beat the opening day record for re-released film in Hindi as that spot is taken by Harshvardhan Rane’s Sanam Teri Kasam with an opening day haul of Rs 4.5 crore, while The Epic has earned just Rs 1.4 crore. The journey for the film has just only started and going by the trends, it is expected to become the highest grossing re-released film in India. Bahubali -The Epic also features Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan and Nassar.
