Prabhas’ 'The Raja Saab' to clash with 'Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu' and 'Anaganaga Oka Raju' this Sankranti

Prabhas’ ‘The Raja Saab’ was announced to be release on December 5, and the film has reached the final stage of production. But the film faces an unexpected twist, and the news for Prabhas fans is that they have to wait a little longer. ‘The Raja Saab’ will release on January 9, 2026, producer D.G. Vishwa Prasad officially announced at the launch of Teja Sajja’s ‘Mirai’ trailer. This will put it in direct conflict with two family stories – Chiranjeevi’s ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’ and Naveen Polisetty’s ‘Anaganaga Oka Raju’ at the box office.

Prabhas in a dual role

Directed by Maruthi, this horror comedy film will see Prabhas playing a dual role. Sanjay Dutt will be seen in a pivotal role, Malavika Mohanan will be making her Telugu debut, and Nithi Agarwal and Rithi Kumar will be seen together. It is also reported that Sanjay Dutt will play Prabhas’ grandfather. The music is composed by S. Thaman. The expectations for this film have increased after Prabhas’s ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’.

Sankranti release locked for ‘The Raja Saab’

Earlier, there was confusion over the release date. “Hindi buyers wanted December 5, but Telugu distributors wanted Sankranti release, which is January 9. “We will decide accordingly,” the producer had said during the earlier clarification. Now that confusion has been resolved, and it has been confirmed that the film will release on Sankranti 2026. This also opens the possibility of ‘Akhanda 2’ releasing on December 5.

‘The Raja Saab’ gears up for a massive box office battle

‘The Raja Saab’ is set to have a strong box office battle as Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is also set to release on the same Sankranthi festival day. So, the Prabhas starrer might face trouble in occupying more screens due to multiple big releases. With box office competition fierce on both sides, theaters are sure to receive a huge crowd during the first festive season of 2026.
