According to trade reports, the premiere only sold 16 tickets out of 905 which forced the cancellation. The icing on the cake was the opposite reaction at the same cinema, where ‘Jana Nayagan’ had phenomenal advance sales. The cancellation was rather suddenly the talk of the fans and the trade alike, with overseas market getting all the attention.

In an impressive display of superiority, all of 10 show premieres and 4 additional fan shows ended up getting houseful at the same French venue for ‘Jana Nayagan’.
