Power Star Pawan Kalyan‘s gangster action drama is ruling the box office on the first day of its release. ‘They Call Him OG’ is shattering booking and paid premiere records. The film, directed by Sujeeth, has reportedly crossed the Rs 150 crore mark, according to the makers.

According to makers, the movie has minted over Rs 154 crore globally on the first day of its release. Sharing a celebratory poster on social media, the team wrote, “Idhi Pawan Kalyan Cinema….. #OG Erases History Worldwide Day 1 Gross – 154 Cr+ #BoxOfficeDestructorOG #TheyCallHimOG”According to trade analyst Sacnilk, ‘OG’ had earned an estimated Rs 10.65 crore by 5 pm on Friday. This makes the total domestic collection in just two days Rs 95.35 crore.
‘Mirai’ makers halt screening for ‘OG’
The film also received an added boost on Thursday as the Teja Sajja starrer ‘Mirai’ makers decided to temporarily halt the screening of their film on the release day of ‘OG’. This was done by the ‘Mirai’ makers, “out of respect” for Pawan Kalyan. Pawan Kalyan enjoys a huge fan following and is currently the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. With the actor now being more focused on his political career, this cinematic outing is an emotional and highly anticipated experience for fans.

Speaking about the film, it revolves around the story of Ojas Gambheera, played by Pawan Kalyan, a gangster who returns to Mumbai after a decade. The film stars Emraan Hashmi as a ruthless crime boss named Omi Bhau and the “OG” is back to take him out.
