However, as we sat with the actress for a candid conversation, Mumtaz revealed that though her work with Kaka was loved immensely, she enjoyed sharing the screen with her every co-star.“I gave several hits with other heroes, Jeetendra, Dharmendra, Sanjay Khan, Dev Anand. Why only talk about one hero? I agree that my chemistry with Kaka( Rajesh Khanna) was very special. Speaking of Shammi Kapoor, Mumtaz confessed she is tired of being asked about her brief relationship with him. “It was what it was. It lasted briefly, and we moved on. Yes, he did ask me to marry him. But why talk about it? There are families involved. I don’t want anyone to get hurt for a headline,” said the actress.

When Shammi Kapoor called his relationship with Mumtaaz ‘a nightmare’

In an old interview with Lehren Retro, Shammi Kapoor spoke about working with Mumtaz and commented on the bond they shared. According to him, it was all roses and sunshine in the beginning, but soon it turned into a nightmare. The actor confessed he was a widower at the time, and Mumtaz was very beautiful. “For a short while, we both had dreams, but then it turned into a nightmare. So, it’s fine. I am happy as I am today.”

Mumtaz is considering making a comeback

She also shared that she was offered Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi’, but she refused. She said, “The money being offered was a pittance. Why would I work for so little money when I have everything that I need, plus more?”
