Mohanlal’s ‘L 367’:‘It is not a regular army-based film’ |
Superstar Mohanlal is teaming up with National Award–winning director Vishnu Mohan for an upcoming film. On Republic Day, the makers announced the film, and ever since then, there have been reports that the film is based on Operation Ganga, an evacuation mission by the Indian government to rescue citizens stranded in neighboring countries, including Ukraine, during the 2022 Russian invasion.So is the film really based on Operation Ganga? Talking to The New Indian Express, the director revealed that the film is based on true incidents; however, it is not a regular army film. “It’s still early days, but I can clarify that it is based on multiple real incidents,” Vishnu Mohan told the publication. He further added, “It is not a regular army-based film.”Vishnu Mohan didn’t divulge many details about the film. However, the director added that he has been working on the project for some time, and it has involved extensive research. “With this subject, there are a lot of limitations on how to condense it into a feature format. I went around and met a lot of people related to these incidents to learn about the different possibilities,” he revealed.The team has planned ‘L 367’ as a pan-Indian project, with Mohanlal at the helm. The director also hinted that the film will have technicians and actors from across the country and beyond!“We have been trying to put things together ever since we got the confirmation from Lalettan around ten months back. It has been almost three months since we began pre-production, and except for one technician, we have confirmed all the others,” he said.‘L 367’ will go on floors by the end of May.On the work front, Mohanlal is currently filming his next with director Tharun Moorthy. After delivering their blockbuster ‘Thudarum’ last year, the duo are reuniting. The shoot of the film is progressing in Thodupuzha.
