Mollywood’s celebrated actor-director duo, Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph, are all set to join forces once again for the much-awaited ‘Drishyam 3‘. After numerous reports and rumours about the film materialising soon, Mohanlal himself confirmed the news on his social media handles by sharing an unmissable picture.
Following the massive success of ‘Drishyam’ and ‘Drishyam 2′, the makers are all set to be back with a third part. Both films were remade in several languages after their success.

On 20 February, Mohanlal shared a picture of himself alongside Jeethu Joseph and producer Antony Perumbavoor on his X (formerly Twitter) account with the caption, “The Past Never Stays Silent. Drishyam 3 Confirmed! #Drishyam3”. The post quickly went viral as fans grew curious to know the next chapter of Georgekutty’s (Mohanlal’s character) story.
The ‘Drishyam’ franchise was widely acclaimed for its gripping crime-thriller narrative. It was remade in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Sinhalese, and even Chinese.
In an old conversation with India Today, Mohanlal reflected on the franchise’s impact on the Malayalam industry. He noted how the film significantly elevated the industry’s reach and popularity. He also mentioned that Drishyam 3 was produced during the Covid-19 pandemic and emphasised how the franchise attracted nationwide attention, encouraging audiences across India to explore more Malayalam films. Additionally, he credited the film for boosting the industry’s visibility on an international level, calling it a blessing for Malayalam cinema.
On the work front, Mohanlal is gearing up for the release of his next film ‘L2: Empuraan‘, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is set to hit theatres on March 27.
