Kaun Banega Crorepati 17: Amitabh Bachchan expresses his love for Indian cuisine says ‘There’s no other food like it’ |

In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, host Amitabh Bachchan left audiences smiling with his deep reflections on food and life. Big B said, “Achha bhojan aur achhe bhavishya ki recipe same hoti hai. Achhe bhojan banane ke liye chahiye achhi samagri, sahi samay aur hunar, achhi bhavishya ke liye chahiye sahi avsar, sahi mehnat aur sahi nirnay. In food, even if one masala is missing, the taste changes. And in life, if one decision goes wrong, the future changes. Good food satisfies your soul and a good future settles your life.”The episode welcomed contestant Mrinmoy Pal from Kolkata, who took the hotseat. Introducing him, Bachchan shared how food holds a special place in Bengali culture. He quipped, “I learnt you are a chef, and being a Bengali I know how food is important. Bengalis are very particular about food—how machher jhol should be made, how rice should be cooked. Even if they burn their fingers, the rice must be super hot.”Mrinmoy began his game confidently, starting from Rs.50,000 and later using his 50-50 lifeline for the Rs.2,00,000 question. He also spoke about his signature dish, Paneer Makhni, which happens to be his daughter’s favorite. This led Amitabh Bachchan to praise Indian cuisine, remarking, “There is no food like Indian food. What Italian, what other cuisines… Indian food is best.”Despite his strong start, Mrinmoy faced hurdles in the Super Sandook round, where he managed to secure only Rs.40,000 and couldn’t revive any lifelines. His big challenge came with the Rs.7,50,000 question: “Just before which of these Olympic Games did the Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal exhibit the sport of kabaddi in the host city?” The options were Berlin 1936, Tokyo 1964, Amsterdam 1928, and London 1948.Relying on the audience poll, Mrinmoy chose option C (Amsterdam 1928), but unfortunately, the correct answer was option A (Berlin 1936), bringing his journey to an end.Still, the episode stood out for Big B’s heartfelt words on food and life, and his love for the rich flavors of Indian cuisine.
