Actor-director Rishab Shetty is gearing up for his upcoming film, ‘Kantara Chapter: 1’, which is set to release on October 2. Ahead of the film’s release, the star recently visited Mumbai for promotions. During his visit, he recalled his earlier days working as an office boy in a production house that was headlining a high-budget project.

Remembers his early days in Andheri West

As per an IANS report, during the promotions in the city, the 42-year-old filmmaker opened up about his struggling years, before finding fame. He revealed that he once worked as an office boy for a production banner in Andheri West. He shared, “Mumbai is extremely special for me because back in 2008, I used to work as an office boy for a production house in Andheri West. I was the driver of one of the producers, and today, with the power of cinema, I am sitting here, getting so much recognition, love, respect, and blessings.

Slice of nostalgia with Vada Pav

Rishab Shetty also recalled the simple joys of his time in the city, particularly the street food that kept him going during those tough years. “We used to have Vada Pav on the streets of Andheri West and never thought I would make it here. Cinema, which we see as God, being an artist has brought me here today, and I am grateful for that,” he said.

‘Kantara’ pre-release event cancelled in Chennai

In other news, the makers recently announced the cancellation of the film’s pre-release event in Chennai. The event, scheduled for Tuesday, was called off following the tragic stampede in Karur that claimed several lives.On social media, they wrote, “Due to the recent unfortunate incident, we are cancelling the ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ promotional event in Chennai tomorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected. Thank you for your understanding, we look forward to meeting our audience in Tamil Nadu at a more appropriate time.”The upcoming film will take the audience to the deeply rooted past of the mystical forest from ‘Kantara’. It stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram and others in pivotal roles.
