Israel’s military on Monday confirmed it had launched a wave of coordinated airstrikes on six Iranian airbases, significantly impairing Tehran’s ability to conduct aerial operations amid deepening hostilities between the two countries. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said the air raids targeted key military infrastructure across western, central, and eastern Iran, including runways, underground hangars, refuelling aircraft, and Iranian fighter jets.

“As part of efforts to deepen aerial superiority over Iranian airspace, the IDF struck six Iranian regime airfields… damaging runways, underground hangars, a refuelling aircraft, and fighter jets of the F-14, F-5, and AH-1 types,” the IDF said in a statement. The aircraft were reportedly intended for use against Israeli jets.Separately, over 15 Israeli fighter jets struck surface-to-surface missile launch sites in Kermanshah, aiming to neutralise Iranian threats directed at Israel. “The Israeli Air Force disrupted the ability to launch from these airfields and impaired the Iranian military’s aerial capabilities,” the military added. The strikes come amid heightened conflict since June 13, when Israel and the United States launched coordinated operations against Iran’s nuclear and missile facilities. The latest escalation follows US President Donald Trump’s deployment of bunker-buster bombs on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites. Trump later claimed the strikes had inflicted “monumental damage” and “completely and fully obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Also read: Israel Iran War News Live Updates: Iran launches new ballistic missile barrage; blasts heard in IsraelIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel is “very close” to achieving its goals. “This is a regime that wants to wipe us out… we are moving step by step towards achieving these goals,” he said.
