Ariana Grande’s latest appearance at the BAFTA Film Awards has ignited fresh concern regarding her health. The singer-turned-actress, left fans concerned when a photo that displayed her shockingly slim figure went viral online.
The Wicked star, who earned an Oscar-nomination for her role in the musical, was seen signing autographs at the event, when a fan-pic was posted online, sparking a wave of reactions online. “I just hope she’s okay because I certainly would not be if I were in her shoes and everyone felt so entitled to talk about my body all the time,” one user commented.
Another added, “Every time I see a new pic, I feel shocked all over again,” while a third noted, “I genuinely hope Ariana Grande is okay this can’t be healthy.”
Still another added, “This is Ariana Grande. I have seen people say get help. I suggest taking a step back and praying. The music industry and Hollywood is filled with horrors the normal person can’t comprehend.”
Grande has been at the centre of intense scrutiny regarding her appearance throughout the promotional tour for Wicked, in which she plays the role of Glinda. Many have noted that her thin frame and visible sternum could sometimes indicate underlying health concerns.
In December, during an emotional interview with French outlet, Grande addressed the relentless discussion surrounding her weight, which intensified during the promotional spree. At the time, fans took to social media to post photos of the singer from 5 years apart to point out her drastic physical transformation.
Grande previously clapped back at body shamers in 2023, insisting she was “healthier than ever” despite viral comparisons of her weight. She revealed that the version of herself many considered her “healthiest” was actually when she was at her lowest point, eating poorly and struggling personally.
“Healthy can look different,” she stated, emphasizing that no one should feel the need to explain their body to the public.
Grande earned her first Academy Award nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in ‘Wicked’. She will compete against Zoe Saldana, Isabella Rossellini, Monica Barbaro and Felicity Jones for gold.
