The world celebrates International Tea Day on May 21, but actress Urvashi Dholakia has a good reason to celebrate ‘Chai’ every day. Urvashi adopted an indie dog that her sons Sagar and Kshitij named Chai because of her colour that reminded them of tea.Urvashi says, “A few years ago, we came across a litter in our area, where we found two puppies. My sons named them Chai and Coffee because of their colour. During the lockdown, Chai would be outside our door at 5am every morning. Then one day she decided to come in and went straight to my room and that’s when we decided to adopt her.”She further recounts, “Chai is a lockdown baby and the queen of our house. She quickly got along with our other pet, a Husky too. Today she has taken over my bed, she plonks herself there the minute I wake up. Unfortunately, we lost Coffee last year and are still grieving.”‘Chai was my only requirement when I entered the Bigg Boss house’When it comes to the beverage, Urvashi admits she is a ‘tea-totaler’. She recalls, “Many years ago, when I entered the Bigg Boss house, they asked me if there’s anything I absolutely require in the house. I told them that I require a particular brand of tea and if they give me that, I don’t have any other expectations! I love my cup of strong chai and even on the sets, you’ll find me sipping on it.”
