Amid an influx of defamatory content against the idol, YoonA has officially announced through her management agency that she will be proceeding with strict and legal action against anyone who chooses to post content against the idol. As per Koreaboo, the company issued an official statement regarding the matter and stated that “We are informing you of legal actions in response to rights violations concerning our artist Yoona. Through monitoring and fan reports via KWANGYA 119, we have confirmed that malicious posts, including the spread of false information, defamation, and slander, are being circulated. A complaint has already been filed, and we are cooperating with the authorities in the investigation.”The statement also shared how they will be extensively looking for posts like this that use abbreviations as well as nicknames to ensure that they do not get caught. The statement read that “We are pursuing all possible civil and criminal actions against any unlawful acts that suggest or refer to the artist not only by name but also via initials, nicknames, or partial characters. No leniency or settlements will be considered—we will respond strongly and without exception.”The statement ended with a warning that read, “Spreading unverified rumours or posting malicious content, whether written or visual, is clearly illegal.
